Forsythia is a beautifully flowering deciduous shrub 0.7 - 2 m tall. The shape of the crown is dense, rounded and does not require shaping. The forsythia bush blooms even before the leaves bloom, its branches are densely covered with golden flowers that look like bells. Flowering time - March-April. The color of the flowers is light yellow. The diameter of the flowers is 2-3 cm. Incredibly abundant flowering. The leaves are simple, oblong or oval-lanceolate, up to 10 cm long, coarsely toothed along the edge. Forsythia grows well in a sunny place and in partial shade, but it is better to plant it in a warm place potected from the wind. Grows on any fertile soil. The forsythia bush can freeze in frosty winters. To prevent this from happening, in the fall, the shoots should be bent to the ground and covered with spruce branches or other covering material. Suitable for standard culture.

Forsythia is a variety known since 1833. It got its name in honor of botanist U. Forsyth, who was the first to find it in the forests of China. The culture does not require special care, it can grow both in partial shade and in the open sun. Belongs to the Maslin family.

A decorative shrub with fast growth rates. The maximum height of the trunk is 4 m. The diameter of the crown is about 2 m. The leaves appear after the flowering period and reach a size of 2-15 cm.

Flowering begins in March and lasts for at least 3 weeks. Bell-shaped buds, very huge, painted bright yellow. The width of one flower when fully opened varies from 2.5 to 4 cm.

Frost resistance is excellent, but only if there is shelter from snow. Otherwise, the shoots may freeze.
